The SOCP Dagger is manufactured to the exacting standards one expects from Benchmade:

- Material: The dagger is crafted from a single piece of 440C stainless steel. This steel grade was chosen for its excellent balance of hardness (59 HRC), toughness, and corrosion resistance under harsh conditions.
- Blade Geometry: Features a Spear Point profile with a length of 8.18 cm. This design is optimized for penetration and direct force transfer.

Although the SOCP Dagger is designed for minimal maintenance, we recommend the following for optimal longevity:

- Sharpening: 440C steel is easy to maintain. For the spear point blade, it is best to use a ceramic sharpening rod or a flat diamond stone to ensure the sharpness of the penetration point.
- Cleaning: After contact with salt water or sweat, rinse the knife thoroughly with fresh water and dry it completely. Although 440C is stainless, the coating may be susceptible to slight surface oxidation if damaged.
- Sheath retention: Check regularly to ensure the sheath still provides sufficient clamping force. The molded plastic sheath is durable but should be kept free of sand and debris to prevent scratches on the blade.
Training: Use only the red trainer for practice purposes. Check the trainer regularly for sharp burrs that may develop from intensive use on hard targets.
